Hand Rankings for Texas Holdem Poker

Ahhh, the Royal Flush. When you talk hand rank this is the baby to
have. Five cards of the same suite in sequence from ten to ace.  If you
are holding this in your hand bet the house, dog, cat, car and whatever
else you can find that isn't nailed down because you are unbeatable.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 650,000

Five cards of the same suit in sequence is a straight flush.  Not quite
as satisfying as a Royal Flush but still worthy enough to claim most pots
and cause uncontrollable shaking from all but the most seasoned
players.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 72,200

Four of a kind. Four cards all of the same face value, the higher the
better. Usually good as gold as far as hand rank goes.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 4,200

Okay, we're starting to get a little more common now. A full
house
consists of any three cards of the same value paired with two
cards also of the same value. Ties are broken by the highest value of
the three card set in each hand.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 700

The Flush is a wannabe Royal Flush that just isn't organized enough to
make it to the big time.  Five cards, all of the same suite of any rank.  It's
nice to look at but could be so much better.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 510

A straight is five cards of any suite, all in sequence. Aces can count as
either high or low

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 250

Three of a kind is just that,  three cards of the same value.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 48

Two cards of the same value paired with two other cards of same value
is...ready?...two pair

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 21

We think you have the hang of this by now.  One Pair..two cards of the
same value.  Kinda like two socks, before the dryer monster ate one.

Odds of being dealt during first five cards of play:  1 in 2.4

If this is your hand at the end of a game you have big problems.  High card
is just that, the highest single card in your hand.  If you actually win a pot
with this you are either a master of the bluff or are playing with chimps (no
discredit to chimps intended)
